About The Judicial Branch

The Lousisana's judicial contains many courts.it deals with law of the state and find the solution to the problem.
-Judicial powers
-Supreme court (10 years)
-District court (8 years)
-Can't pratice law and be in office at the same time
The judges are elected by the people.The State has seven Supreme Court district and one judge for each.They can also change laws.The cheif justice is the oldest service of the supreme court.
-Courts of Appeal have five circuit courts with at least three judges.
-Courts of Appeal: Jurisdiction
-The Court does not hear new facts if the case already close on a criminal cases.
-Grand Jury
-There are only one or more grand juries in each parish.They choose if there's enough evidence to covict someone to jail.
-Sheriffs
-Can serve a four year term.He enforce laws,collect taxes, with limitations of Orleans Parish.
-Jurors
-A person thats 18 can be a juror in the parish he/she stay in. When someone has reached the age of 70+ can not choose to be a juror if they want to.
